Win a KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor!

30 Apr

I’m so excited to be teaming up with KitchenAid to give away a new 13-cup food processor this month. KitchenAid 16-Cup Food Processor

It has an Exact Slice System and an External Adjustable Blade, so you can slice from thick to thin, just by sliding a lever—without having to remove the blade or turn off the food processor. It’s good for chopping, slicing and shredding, soft and hard foods. It comes in Onyx Black, Contour Silver and White, and the winner will have the pick of all these colours.  The retail price is $299.

Here’s a preview video:

Over the next three blog posts, I’ll be experimenting with this model and making ratatouille three ways–en papillote with trout; in a filo pastry tart with goat cheese; and deconstructed as a homemade pizza topping, and I’ll be sharing my recipes and honest feedback along the way.

This giveaway contest is open to residents of Canada. You can enter between April 30 and May 14.

To enter, you need to be a subscriber to Open Kitchen (the subscription form is on the home page–just enter your name and e-mail address to get a heads up when new blog posts go up).

And all you have to do is leave a comment on this page or one of the recipe pages, saying why you’d love to win the KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor.

A winner will be picked, using a random selection app, on May 15.

Good luck!

Why would I love to win the KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor? Because a girl always likes new toys! But in all seriousness, my food processor is truly an antique and the slicing/shredding attachments are in sad shape. Rescue me!

I want to win so I can make puréed soups and whatever else Val shows us!

  3. Sandra April 30th, 2014 at 5:52 PM #

Pesto, soups, juices – what couldn’t I make with a food processor?

  4. Jaclyn April 30th, 2014 at 6:02 PM #

I would love to win this, because I’m not very good at chopping thick, thin or anything, really.

I’d love to win this food processor so that I could get my beau – the cook in our family – to finally shut up about my bad knife technique! Who needs chopping skills when you can use a tool like this?

  6. Andrea April 30th, 2014 at 7:29 PM #

We insanely decided that it was a good idea to make all the food for our 150-guest wedding this summer. This would save us days of chopping!

I would love to win the KitchenAid food processor because I have never owned one and have always wondered how much easier it would make my cooking/baking adventures!

  8. Geeta April 30th, 2014 at 8:15 PM #

I’d love to win this so I could give it away to a family who would otherwise not be able to afford it. That way I’d be supporting another family in their whole food journey and making the world a better place. I own this exact model so I know from experience what a fantastic lifesaver it is. Thanks, Val!

Food processors are perfect to make perfect dough. This is one of the main reasons why I would love to have one. Also, it is perfect to make big dinner and invite lots of friends. It is the tool for sharing.

If KitchenAid truly can spare it,
I’d slice onions, knead dough, and grate carrots.
With the time that it buys
    and its 13 cup size
I could cook up a party to share it!

So I can give back to one my mom lent me….. 8 years ago…

Last night I attempted to make the summer rolls from the previous post. They were delicious, but I realized how weak my knife skills are, and how much I rely on a food processor. (I recently broke the one I had since university).

I would love to win a food processor. My daughter has this one and I am jealous.

  14. Amy May 2nd, 2014 at 10:12 AM #

I’d love to win this processor because there are a ton of things I avoid making because I don’t own one. I have so much to learn!

I’d seriously love to win the KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor. It would be really helpful and I love anything KitchenAid

  16. Joanna May 3rd, 2014 at 12:45 PM #

There are SO many recipes that I’d like to make if I had a food processor. The first recipe would be coconut butter since it tastes so yummy and the second would be banana ice cream (frozen bananas pureed).

  17. Kindha Sajan May 3rd, 2014 at 5:34 PM #

I’d love to win the KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor as it would make it so much easier to follow most of the great recipes I see here and there. It seems every time I see a great recipe it calls for a food processor to be used, I don’t have one and KitchenAid is the best… so please can I win.

  18. Maggie May 4th, 2014 at 10:25 AM #

Think of all the baby food I could make if I win this!

  19. Katie Noel May 6th, 2014 at 2:24 AM #

Why do I want to win the KitchenAid food processor? Well, I’m in desperate need of something that blends after my old food processor and blender died at the same time. I’m dying to try out new recipes, but without that function on any of my appliances, I have to pass over a lot of tasty-looking food! So please…I really hope to win.

I currently have a very old food processor that has only one blade attachment, which severely limits what I can do with it. It is coloured in ‘Harvest Green’ to give you an idea of its vintage. I am seriously in need of an upgrade. If I win this KitchenAid 13-Cup Food Processor, I would hope it comes in Apple Green to match my KitchenAid Artisan Stand Mixer.
    Cheers,
    Steve S

Hummus! A food processor is the best way to make a delicious, creamy hummus. My son’s favourite snack.

  22. Eirian Taylor May 10th, 2014 at 2:54 PM #

It would be amazing to win this! I love cooking for my parents at the weekend, but our processer has started to leak 🙁 would be great to have a new one, I love cooking from scratch – miss making my favourite snack of homemade almond butter.

    Thanks,

    Eirian

It’s a long story, but I gave my food processor away to my sister in law. She really needed a pick me up and wanted a food processor – so it seemed the right thing to do. And now…I don’t have a food processor to make my awesome fish cakes, or my carrot cake recipe…or, or, or…I was surprised by how much I missed it!

  24. Elly May 12th, 2014 at 10:30 PM #

I’d love to win this because I once had a food processor, and when my roommate moved out, she put it in one of her boxes and took it with her 🙁 And I really miss having one because they are so great for making bread dough and all the recipes that make my arms ache.

  25. Andrew May 12th, 2014 at 10:54 PM #

My mom has been using the same food processor since the 80’s, the power switch doesn’t work (you have to plug it in and pull it out to turn it on and off). This would be a great gift for her!

  26. Ritu Kumar May 13th, 2014 at 12:28 AM #

I want to win this as I want to start cooking better , I always buy frozen food .
I cannot cut as I am accident prone and keep cutting myself .
I would love to win this for myself .

  27. JP Davidson May 13th, 2014 at 6:18 AM #

I want to win that KitchenAid food processor because my current non-KitchenAid one just plain sucks!

  28. Janet Harron May 13th, 2014 at 7:05 AM #

I would love to win the Kitchen Aid because my old food processor (NOT a Kitchen Aid) just broke!

  29. Hilary Ward May 13th, 2014 at 7:26 AM #

I have always wanted to own a food processor. For years I have made due with my blender. I would love to add this beautiful gadget to my kitchen and make things like veggie meatballs, hummus, and baby food!

  30. julie May 13th, 2014 at 10:16 PM #

I’d like to win this so that Val will deliver it in person and visit me this summer.

  31. Rebecca T May 13th, 2014 at 10:32 PM #

I’d like to win one for my mom! She could use a hand in the kitchen 🙂

  32. Jill May 14th, 2014 at 12:28 AM #

I need one just to make fish food for my tilapia. And Val can visit!

  33. Julie May 14th, 2014 at 12:59 AM #

Ii would absolutely love the Kitchen Aid food processor, because I don’t have one yet!

  34. caribougrrl May 14th, 2014 at 8:08 AM #

I’d love a food processor if for no other reason than to be able to make MORE sugarplums at Christmas… I have no doubt it would be put to good use year-round. Since we’ve never gotten married, there’s been no occasion to ask for one… and since I can stumble along managing to make a lovely hummus in the blender (one chickpea added at a time toward the end), I’ve never been able to justify the extravagance.

  35. Ed Hawco May 14th, 2014 at 8:51 AM #

I used to think my KitchenAid immersion blender was all I needed, but in the last couple of years I find myself making (or wanting to make) more puréed food such as dips, hummus, and various other things that just don’t work well with the hand blender or my creaky old mini-blender. I’ve been eyeballing blenders for a while now, and this KitchenAid one is among the top contenders!

  36. Annie May 14th, 2014 at 9:08 AM #

OMG! To win that Kitchen Aid Food processor would transform my cooking: I am a lazy cook, so to have that exquisite toy chop and slice for me would be heaven 🙂

  37. Lori T May 14th, 2014 at 11:19 AM #

I would love to win this Kitchen Aid food Processor. I’ve been trying to eat healthier and add more raw foods to my diet – this would be such a big help!

  38. Deborah May 14th, 2014 at 3:08 PM #

I would so like to have a food processor again as I have been without one since my first move out here from Vancouver to Toronto. I’ve made due but my mandolin and my mini chopper just can’t give me what a food processor can do. Now that I am doing more food writing this would be the perfect addition to my kitchen appliances! Fingers crossed!
