Friday Cocktail: The Ginger Gimlet

26 Apr

The Ginger Gimlet tastes citrus-fresh and mind-bendingly fiery all at once. It was developed by Christopher Cho for his new cocktail list at CHARCUT Roast House. Cho likes to keep his mixed drinks clean and simple, as you’ll see by the recipe below.

I got to try this delicious drink at a kitchen party (more on that in an upcoming post), with CHARCUT chefs Connie de Sousa and John Jackson, and a few friends.

I blame the Ginger Gimlets for the game of Small Face, Big Face that ensued.

Here’s how to make your own cocktails–and hopefully Friday fun!

Ginger Gimlet
Juice 4 lb of fresh ginger. Measure the liquid this produces in a measuring jug and add an equal part sugar and half the amount of lime juice to make a cordial. Shake 1.5 oz cordial and 1.5 oz Tanqueray gin in a chilled shaker with ice. Pour and serve to friends.
